Slackware 14.1 Mon Nov 4 17:08:47 UTC 2013 Slackware 14.1 x86_64 stable is released! It's been another interesting release cycle here at Slackware bringing new features like support for UEFI machines, updated compilers and development tools, the switch from MySQL to MariaDB, and many more improvements throughout the system. Thanks to the team, the upstream developers, the dedicated Slackware community, and everyone else who pitched in to help make this release a reality. The ISOs are off to be replicated, a 6 CD-ROM 32-bit set and a dual-sided 32-bit/64-bit x86/x86_64 DVD. Please consider supporting the Slackware project by picking up a copy from store.slackware.com. We're taking pre-orders now, and offer a discount if you sign up for a subscription. Have fun! :-)

Thu Mar 17 19:46:28 UTC 2022 Have a great day, everyone! Off to enjoy a couple Guinness. :-) a/kernel-generic-5.16.15-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. a/kernel-huge-5.16.15-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. a/kernel-modules-5.16.15-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. a/openssl-solibs-1.1.1n-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. d/kernel-headers-5.16.15-x86-1.txz: Upgraded. d/meson-0.61.3-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. k/kernel-source-5.16.15-noarch-1.txz: Upgraded. kde/kstars-3.5.8-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. l/nodejs-16.14.1-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. n/bind-9.18.1-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. This update fixes bugs and the following security issues: An assertion could occur in resume_dslookup() if the fetch had been shut down earlier. Lookups involving a DNAME could trigger an INSIST when "synth-from-dnssec" was enabled. A synchronous call to closehandle_cb() caused isc__nm_process_sock_buffer() to be called recursively, which in turn left TCP connections hanging in the CLOSE_WAIT state blocking indefinitely when out-of-order processing was disabled. The rules for acceptance of records into the cache have been tightened to prevent the possibility of poisoning if forwarders send records outside the configured bailiwick. This update fixes a high severity security issue: The BN_mod_sqrt() function, which computes a modular square root, contains a bug that can cause it to loop forever for non-prime moduli.
